Music Nova Scotia Gala Awards Show Lineup Announced

September 16, 2010 Halifax, Nova Scotia – Steve Patterson, comedian and host of The Debaters on CBC Radio and singer/songwriter Christina Martin will co-host the Music Nova Scotia Gala Awards Show in Yarmouth taking place Sunday, November 7 as part of Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week. The Gala Awards Show is the grand finale of music week and will feature a wide range of talented Nova Scotian artists including Wintersleep, Jordan (JRDN) Croucher, The Cottars, The Stanfields, David Myles, Chelsea Nisbett, The Keats, Alert the Medic, HavanaFax, and local Yarmouth and Acadian Shores musicians from the Musique de la Baie program.

Nova Scotia Music Week Yarmouth to Run on 100% Green Electricity


Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week Yarmouth 2010 will be bullfrogpowered with 100% green electricity. This means that Bullfrog Power will inject renewable electricity onto the local Yarmouth grid to match music week’s event usage.  Bullfrog’s electricity comes exclusively from wind and hydro facilities that have been certified as low impact by Environment Canada under its EcoLogoM program instead of from polluting sources like coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear power.

Showcasing Artists Announced

More than 70 showcasing performers will hit the stages during Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week in Yarmouth, November 4-7 for fans and music buyers from around the world.  Music Nova Scotia announced the full roster today, during a cross-Halifax busking campaign by top Nova Scotia Music Week artists.

“We want to remind everyone in Halifax that Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week is a public event,” said Music Nova Scotia’s Executive Director Scott Long.  “And we invite all music fans to come to Yarmouth November 4-7 for incredible music showcases and lots of one-on-one interaction with your favourite musicians.”

Wintersleep – So Glad to be Back Home!
Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week Yarmouth 2010
November 4-7, 2010

Music Nova Scotia is thrilled to announce that Wintersleep will headline an all-ages show with a 19+ licensed area on Saturday, November 6 at the Rodd Grand Yarmouth Convention Centre in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia for Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week 2010.

The Juno-winning quintet hasn’t played in Yarmouth (Tim D’Eon and Paul Murphy’s hometown) in quite a while, but they are taking time out of their tours of Canada, the U.S. and Europe to get in touch with the hometown fans.

“The New Music Experience”
November 4-7, 2010

Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week’s “The New Music Experience” is a comprehensive four day music industry conference happening November 4-7, 2010 at the Rodd Grand Yarmouth Hotel. “The New Music Experience” conference, open to all Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week showcasing artists and registered delegates, will focus on three separate tracks as a response to the issues faced today by artists and fans, managers, and investors in the music sector.

“The New Music Experience” conference will be comprised of panel discussions, keynote interviews, and hands-on digital training (beginner and advanced sessions). Panel discussions and keynote interviews will be focused on the following tracks:

1. Bands, Fans, and Brands – how to monetize your content in the digital age
2. Managers, Agents, and Labels – New Roles in the digital age

The Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week showcase stages allow Nova Scotian artists the opportunity to perform for a target audience of influential industry members including record label representatives, talent buyers, managers and media.
