Twenty-six of Nova Scotia’s top artists will showcase their musical talent along with the best Canadian athletes at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.  Music Nova Scotia has compiled a comprehensive web guide to see who is playing when and where during the historic ten-day event.

On February 15th at Atlantic Canada House on Granville Island, Music Nova Scotia, in partnership with the Atlantic Film Festival, will host an exclusive showcase for music buyers.  From 2-5 p.m., The Stanfields, Thom Swift and Amelia Curran will play to a targeted group of film and music supervisors from the west coast, including Joel C. High and PJ Bloom from Los Angeles.

“At the same time as our athletes perform on the world stage of competitive sport, many of our Nova Scotia musicians will take to the stage to showcase their talents with performances throughout the duration of the Olympics,” said Music Nova Scotia President, Brian Doherty.  “Music Nova Scotia will be there to assist with the development of the many exporting opportunities that are expected as a result of this wonderful showcasing opportunity.”

The Vancouver media are already touting Atlantic Canada House as one of the top three Olympic Houses to visit.  Vancouver Magazine said, “From food tastings to musical shows by top indie acts, the Maritimes have pulled out all the stops in their bid to ‘share Atlantic Canadian hospitality.’”

From Ashley MacIsaac to Wintersleep, George Canyon to Rose Cousins, the variety and quality of artists from our province will surely entertain and impress Olympic participants.  Equally, we know our artists will experience an unforgettable stage for their performances.
