The Reeperbahn Festival

Now in its sixth year, the Reeperbahn Festival is an international music festival held from Thursday 22nd until Saturday 24th, September 2011, with up to 250 new international bands, solo artists and indie stars showcased in and around Germany's bustling music metropolis of Hamburg. Visitors not only enjoy the diverse and eclectic musical line-up, but also the setting of The Reeperbahn. Once commonly known as the 'Wicked Mile', it is now a world famous entertainment boulevard, lined with music clubs, cafés and restaurants, this year the capacity of the festival has been increased to 20,000.
For the second year in a row the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) will be presenting a Canadian Blast branded presence at one of Germany’s most respected and influential music festivals. Music Nova Scotia is pleased to partner with CIMA on Canada House at Reeperbahn Festival.

Although minimalist in terms of numbers, their sound is anything but that. Self described as “The most noise two Cape Bretoners can make”, that noise is a cascade of passion, urgency and belief in their songs. On stage they move like intense caricatures – soaked in sweat, pushing every chord, note and beat to the limit. A structured wall of sound emerges; familiar yet distinctive.
