2010 – Battle for the Warped Tour RULES & REGULATIONS

This contest is being conducted by Music Nova Scotia and its partners (The Vans Warped Tour 2011, Halifax Pop Explosion, The Seahorse Tavern) and is open to all residents of Nova Scotia, except employees (including their immediate families or persons with whom they are domiciled) of Music Nova Scotia, its partners and their authorized distributors, respective agents or representatives and their respective advertising promotional agencies.

By applying you agree to the following guidelines:

ENTRY GUIDELINES
1. Complete the online submission form (you must include your Music Nova Scotia profile page). 
2. Entrants can only win the Grand Prize once.
3. The prize is non-transferable, has no cash value for the winner.
4. There are no prize substitutions. The prize must be accepted as awarded.
5. Entrants must be 19 years or older to be eligible to win.
6. Music Nova Scotia and its partners shall have the right to use the songs at their sole discretion, without reservation and without payment to broadcast the songs, which comprises the lyrics and music of the entrant.
7. The rights, title, interest and copyright to the lyrics/music submitted remains with the entrant.
8. In case of errors, technical problems or any matter interfering with the conduct of this promotion as outlined by these rules and regulations, the right is reserved to terminate or withdraw this contest at any time without prior notice.
9. Music Nova Scotia and its partners assume no responsibility whatsoever for injuries, death, losses or personal inconvenience caused to the entrants of this contest at any time.
10. Entrants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. The contest is not open to directors or employees of Music Nova Scotia or its partners.
11. The contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations that may be applicable.
12. All decisions made by the industry judges with respect to the acceptance of any entry and eligibility of entries and judging results shall be final and binding.
13. All artists are responsible for their own travel, accommodations and expenses that arise from the Battle of the Bands.
14. The consideration/remuneration for the artist performance is the opportunity to win the contest prize – no fees will be paid by Music Nova Scotia or its partners to any artist performing in conjunction with this contest.

We’re Doomed Takes Home the Grand Prize for Battle to Warped Tour II

After four weeks of intense band on band battles, only one finalist could take home the grand prize for Music Nova Scotia and Halifax Pop Explosion’s Battle to Warped Tour II. On Tuesday, February 8, We’re Doomed, Audrey and the Agents, No Flyers Please, and Ghettochild took the Seahorse stage for the final round of the battle where Vans Warped Tour 2011 Operations Manager and guest judge Damon Atkinson and hundreds of screaming fans witnessed We’re Doomed crowned as this year’s Battle to Warped Tour winner.

We’re Doomed have won three dates on the world’s largest touring festival, The Vans Warped Tour, as well as a showcase at Halifax Pop Explosion 2011, a showcase at Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week 2011, a two month digital PR campaign from Red Tentacle, and digital music delivery service for up to 50 radio stations from Spincount.

Thanks to the number of studios that sponsored the event, each preliminary round winner was awarded studio time from Codapop, The Shed, or Rockopolis Rehearsal Studio, and We’re Doomed were awarded and additional 8 hours of studio time from The Shed for bringing out the most fans out of all 15 bands.

The Vans Warped Tour, Music Nova Scotia, and Halifax Pop Explosion present Battle to Warped Tour II

The jury is in and the line-up for Music Nova Scotia and Halifax Pop Explosion’s Battle to Warped Tour II has been decided. Fifteen bands have been selected to participate in the 3 preliminary rounds, taking place at the Seahorse Tavern on January 18, January 25, and February 1. One finalist from each round and one wild card will advance onto the final battle on Tuesday, February 8th to vie for a number of prizes and a spot on the largest touring festival in the world, The Vans Warped Tour 2011.

The battles begin each Tuesday at the Seahorse Tavern at 10pm with no cost for admission. Juries of local and influential music industry professionals have been selected to judge each preliminary round, and a final jury will decide the grand prize winner on February 8th.

Music Nova Scotia and Halifax Pop Explosion are proud to partner with Live 105, The Coast, Red Tentacle, Rockopolis, SpinCount, Echo Chamber, The Shed, and Codapop for Battle to Warped Tour II.

Grand Prize: Vans Warped Tour, HPX, NSMW 2011 showcase spots, free digital music delivery service upload to 50 radio stations from Spincount and a  complimentary 2-month Digital PR campaign from Red Tentacle.

Duration of Campaign: 2-months (Campaign will begin 30 days prior to the
bands first scheduled tour date)
Approximate Value: $1000.00
Services Included:
-Press Release creation and distribution
-Touring PR (surrounding dates on the Warped Tour)
-Digital EPK creation, storage and on-demand distribution
-Artist development consultation

There will be one winner from each preliminary round who will win one of the following three prizes:
• 8hrs studio time from Echo Chamber
• 8hrs studio time for CodaPop Studios
• 8hrs rehearsal time from Rockopolis.

Also, the band/artist who bring the most fans during the first three preliminary rounds will win 8hrs studio time from The Shed with engineer/producer Tim-Jim Baker (Matt Mays). Fans coming out to the Seahorse will be asked which band/artist they have come to see. Music Nova Scotia will tally the responses and the winner will be announced on the night of the third preliminary round.
