Nominations submissions can be made via the Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week website. Please read the information contained in the 2012 Music Nova Scotia Awards Manual (PDF) carefully to ensure that your submissions fulfill the criteria required for your nominee. The cost to submit is $25, HST included. Submissions can be paid online through PayPal. If you cannot use Paypal, please contact our Finance Administrator Lisa Stitt (902-423-6271 ext. 7) to pay by cheque, in the office with any method (debit, cash, etc.), or over the phone with Visa or MasterCard.

Music Nova Scotia to Launch New Weekly Show in Sydney, NS

Buoyed by the success of New Music Fridays at Casino Nova Scotia’s Harbourfront Lounge in Halifax, Music Nova Scotia has extended their partnership with Casino Nova Scotia to bring a new weekly gig to Sydney. Every Saturday for 22 weeks, New Music Saturdays will give Music Nova Scotia members the chance to play live on the Ceilidh Room stage at Casino Nova Scotia Sydney.

The waves will be perfect, the town will be fresh, and the music will be better than ever. This is a call to submit to showcase at the festival recently awarded Best Regional Festival at the 2012 Yearly Music Conference Awards in Brighton, UK. Showcase submissions for Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week 2012 are now being accepted through our brand new festival website, www.nsmw.ca/festival. Submissions will open Tuesday, May 22 at and close Friday, June 15th at 5:00pm. Nova Scotians take home 24 of the 33 East Coast Music Awards

Halifax, Nova Scotia - There were 99 nominations for Nova Scotians for the 2012 East Coast Music Awards (ECMA), so it was no surprise that 24 of the 33 ECMAs awarded throughout the weekend in Moncton went to Nova Scotians. Music Nova Scotia, beaming with pride, would like to congratulate all of the 2012 nominees and winners from all four provinces.

Nova Scotia invades Moncton for East Coast Music Week

Music Nova Scotia will be heading to Moncton tomorrow to take in the sights and sounds of East Coast Music Week while representing all the Nova Scotians taking part in this year’s festival. We of course wouldn’t leave the house without providing you with an app, so scan the QR code for a full schedule of all the Nova Scotian acts slotted to play at the ECMAs this year.

Tribute Concert to Mark the 100 Year Anniversary of the Sinking of the RMS Titanic

September 16, 2010 Halifax, Nova Scotia – Steve Patterson, comedian and host of The Debaters on CBC Radio and singer/songwriter Christina Martin will co-host the Music Nova Scotia Gala Awards Show in Yarmouth taking place Sunday, November 7 as part of Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week. The Gala Awards Show is the grand finale of music week and will feature a wide range of talented Nova Scotian artists including Wintersleep, Jordan (JRDN) Croucher, The Cottars, The Stanfields, David Myles, Chelsea Nisbett, The Keats, Alert the Medic, HavanaFax, and local Yarmouth and Acadian Shores musicians from the Musique de la Baie program.

Nova Scotia Music Week Yarmouth to Run on 100% Green Electricity

Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week Yarmouth 2010 will be bullfrogpowered with 100% green electricity. This means that Bullfrog Power will inject renewable electricity onto the local Yarmouth grid to match music week’s event usage. Bullfrog’s electricity comes exclusively from wind and hydro facilities that have been certified as low impact by Environment Canada under its EcoLogoM program instead of from polluting sources like coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear power.
