There is no “I” in team, but there is a “Josh”, an “Alana” and a “Marko”

Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week (#NSMW) planning is in full swing, keeping the staff of Music Nova Scotia as busy as ever. So busy, in fact, we decided to hire three new contract employees! MNS is proud to announce Joshua “Pinky” Pothier, Alana Yorke, and Marko Simmonds have been added to the NSMW 2012 team.
Here is a little bit about them:
Josh Pothier - Festival Coordinator: Josh, known to most of the local music scene as Pinky, has been actively performing and touring as a drummer for over 10 years, playing with such acts as Sleepless Nights, Jenn Grant, Kuato, Quiet Parade, Dance Movie, The Establishment, just to name a few. Not only a performer, Josh writes for his own drum blog, bloodydrumknuckles.blogspot.com and local blogs/zines like Noisography and Guff Magazine. He also wanted you to know he’s a music school drop out, so take that, society!
Alana Yorke - Conference Coordinator/Volunteer Manager: Music has always been Alana Yorke’s true love. Even when she was doing a Master’s in Marine Ecology, she was on the cover of Dalhousie Magazine for her work in both science and music. A long-time songwriter, Alana has toured the region as the leader of The New Oceanographers and, more recently, with a new project under her own name. Alana has just released a collaborative live performance video, “The Weight”, and has begun work on her debut album. Marko Simmonds - Marketing Assistant: With a Bachelor of Music from Berklee (yeah that’s right, Berklee), Marko’s experience as a music director, producer, and event planner for RMS Music Production makes him a perfect fit for Music Nova Scotia. But it’s not all business with Marko; he is also a session piano player and writes and performs R&B and Inspirational music.
All three of these individuals bring a diverse range of experience, interests and personality to the Music Nova Scotia team and will help take Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week to the next level. Welcome to the family, folks!
