         
Rich Aucoin
A Rich Aucoin show is like your favourite party with all your friends; an interactive show where the audience is as much of the show as the band members and a place where you can dance/sing/jam a long to your heart's delight. All the while, for those voyeurs who wish to cheer on their friends from the sidelines are in for the spectacle of watching all the music performed played in sync to dozens of movies projected on the wall behind the band (and sometimes on the band's bodies). Aucoin's music is painstakingly written to sync up to these films in the same manner Pink Floyd's sync does with the Wizard of Oz. This process takes some time as Aucoin has only released one EP so far (winner of Music Nova Scotia's Best Alternative Record) and has spent two years syncing a record to over 40 films from the public domain and recording said record with over 500 musicians from across Canada. Aucoin has toured the UK, played festivals such as: Evovle, The Great Escape (UK), Liverpool Soundcity (UK), NXNE, Halifax Pop Explosion, NSMW, Sled Island, Atlantic Jazz Festival, Over The Top!, Pop Montreal Victoria Jazz Festival, and Canadian Music Week, has performed with Deerhoof, Dan Deacon, Caribou, Holy Fuck, Golden Dogs, Girl Talk, Constantines, Weakerthans, Japanther, Spiral Stairs, Little Dragon and Neon Indian and Aucoin has garnered excellent press thus far from Exclaim! "highlight of Canadian Music Week 2010", USA Today "this guy has made an epic album", SPIN Magazine "Canadian Wunderkind", ChartAttack, and The Coast and dozens of other weeklies/dailies and traditional papers and blogs across the country and abroad.
